Win Lightning tickets and celebrate 20 years of the Bed of Nails at MOSI
Tampa, FL (BLOOM) – Aaron Burr turned on Alexander Hamilton. Brutus betrayed Julius Caesar. These historical backstabbers are famous, but none can claim to have stabbed more backs than MOSI’s Bed of Nails at Tampa’s Museum of Science & Industry.
Celebrating its 20th anniversary this July, MOSI’s Bed of Nails has been a staple attraction since its debut in 2004. To mark the occasion, MOSI is offering a unique prize: a free four-pack of tickets to a Tampa Bay Lightning game. The twist? The winner will have to sit near the opposing team’s bench—a nod to the Bed of Nails’ two decades of backstabbing.
“Over 20 years, we’re talking about more than a million backs stabbed by MOSI’s Bed of Nails,” said MOSI CEO John Graydon Smith. “Such a special birthday calls for a special prize, so we’re having a little fun with it. Science plus fun is what MOSI does best, right?”
To enter, guests must post a photo of themselves on the Bed of Nails on Facebook, X, or Instagram with the hashtag #TampaBackstabber by July 31, 2024. A random winner will be selected from these entries.
The Bed of Nails, while intimidating in name, is a safe and fascinating exhibit. Guests lay down and hold a button, triggering 3,600 nails to rise and press into their back, arms, and legs. The even distribution of the guest’s weight across the nails ensures that no single nail has enough force to cause pain.
Brave visitors can experience the Bed of Nails daily at MOSI, located in North Tampa. This exhibit is just one of the many hands-on science experiences included with MOSI admission, offering an engaging and educational adventure for all.
MOSI is Tampa Bay’s center of science and innovation, located in North Tampa at 4801 E. Fowler Ave. The museum is dedicated to interactive learning and playful exploration, making science and technology accessible to everyone through engaging exhibits and programming.
