From Interstate 275
Arriving from the West
- From I-275, take exit 51 for Fowler Avenue
- Follow Fowler Ave for three (3) miles
- MOSI’s will be on your right, just south of the University of South Florida campus
From Interstate 75
Arriving from the East
- From I-75, take exit 265 for Fowler Avenue
- Follow Fowler Ave for three (3) miles
- MOSI will be on your left, just south of the University of South Florida campus
Public Transportation
There are bus stops located a few blocks away from MOSI. A bridge connects MOSI to the University of South Florida campus across Fowler Ave.
- HART bus route 48 and route 5 have stops located closest to MOSI.
- Please refer to HART’s website for exact routes and hours.
Private Transportation
Convenient private transportation to the museum is available through several providers.
- GOGO Charters offers charter bus rentals in Tampa, Orlando and the greater Florida area, while National Charter Bus can schedule a bus to Tampa or Orlando from anywhere in the nation.

Parking Information
MOSI offers free parking!
In general MOSI's gates lock at 5:30pm except in the case of after hours events
Parking location
General public parking is located in front of the museum entrance, with overflow parking close by, right next to MOSI's historic tree grove.
Bus Parking Location
Bus, van, and large vehicle parking is available at no charge for guests across MOSI's main entrance drive. Please do not park buses or large vehicles in the small main lot or in the grass.
Drop Off Instructions
For large groups with a reservation, please drop off at location indicated on your group packet, just under the MOSI bridge. A group greeter will direct you.

Where is MOSI located?
MOSI is located across the street from USF's campus on Fowler Avenue, in the north of Tampa, FL. We have remained at the same location since 1982. Our address is 4801 E. Fowler Avenue, Tampa, FL 33617.
Where are the entrances to MOSI located?
MOSI has two road entrances, from the north on Fowler Avenue, and from the east on 50th street. *50th street entrance is temporarily unavailable due to the impacts from Hurricane Milton
How does parking work at MOSI?
Parking at MOSI is always free. We ask buses to park in overflow parking after dropping off their group. Please be aware gates lock at 5:30pm, unless an afterhours event has been scheduled.
Is MOSI closed on holidays?
MOSI remains open during all holidays except Thanksgiving and Christmas. Please check our website or social media for any unexpected closings.
How big is MOSI?
MOSI’s main entrance and exhibit path are located in the building labeled “Welcome Center” where guests will find access to the labs and classrooms, outdoor Science Park, Zydeco Brew Werks, and the MOSI Dome (reopening in 2024). Maps and directions for camp buildings and other outdoor attractions can be found at the retail desk inside the main entrance.
I heard MOSI might be moving downtown?
MOSI has no current plans to change location. We have remained a community institution at our current site since 1982.
