MOSI is located in northern Tampa, just across the street from the University of South Florida on Fowler Avenue. MOSI has been an integral part of the community at this location for over forty years.

MOSI is a great place to visit for all ages, with activities and programming for kids, families, and adults alike. The primary age range for most exhibits and programming is K-8th.

MOSI’s main entrance and exhibit path are located in the building labeled “Welcome Center” where guests will find access to the labs and classrooms, outdoor Science Park, Zydeco Brew Werks, and the MOSI Dome (reopening in 2024). Maps and directions for camp buildings and other outdoor attractions can be found at the retail desk inside the main entrance.

While the exhibits can be enjoyed over the course of a few hours, by participating in additional experiences such as planetarium shows, ropes course, educational programming, a round of mini-golf, or a stop at our restaurant Zydeco there's enough to do that you can extend your visit throughout the whole day.

Parking at MOSI is always free, with plenty of room in our main lot and overflow parking you don't have to worry about getting a spot. See our hours and directions page for a campus map.

MOSI is open daily from 10am-5pm. We are closed Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Please be aware that campus gates lock after hours.

MOSI has an onsite restaurant, Zydeco Brew Werks (hours may differ). There are also cold drinks and snacks available for purchase from the MOSI Marketplace.

MOSI's entrance and exhibit paths are wheelchair and stroller accessible. Wheelchairs can be rented on a first-come, first-served basis. Please see the accessibility page for more details.

Yes, please check in with the ticketing counter before leaving to make sure you receive proof of re-entry.

Yes, MOSI also offers refillable water bottle stations. Food is only permitted in the lobby or outside, not along the exhibit path.

You can purchase general admission tickets on our website or at the front desk box office. Discounts or special offers can only be applied in person.

Yes, members do need to check in at the main box-office upon arrival to receive their complementary tickets. Please have a valid photo ID. Check the membership page for more details.

Tickets for additional experiences, such as planetarium shows, ropes course, mini golf, or VR, can be purchased in-person or online. Some experiences may only be available at specific times or may be modified due to weather.

Groups and field trips must be scheduled in advance in order to receive group rates. Please see our Groups and Field Trips page to request a quote or email us at reservations@mosi.org for details.

Groups & Field Trips Page

For most large groups and field trips, students can be dropped off at the group gate rather than the main doors. A MOSI greeter will meet you at the group entrance to review your schedule and greet your students as your lead chaperone checks in at the main box office.

Our reservations team sends your group a general schedule at booking, and our group greeters review your schedule upon arrival. Programming time is fixed to accommodate multiple schools each day. Please call us at (813) 987-6000 if your group is experiencing a delay.

Feel free to schedule your lunch at a time that suits your group, but please consider any pre-existing program schedules you have booked. MOSI provides unrefrigerated carts for students to store lunches from home.

There are tables in the lobby, but the most spacious options are the picnic tables in our outdoor Science Park. Please see the Dining and Retail pages for more information on our in-house restaurant and snack options.

MOSI offers a wide variety of programming for students, families, and adults. These include field trips, camps, workshops, member events, adult events, family nights, outreach programs, and more.

Yes! Many of our standard MOSI programs, like birthday parties, scout workshops, or overnight camp-ins can be reserved for a private group. MOSI also offers venue/space rentals and events by special request, see venue rental page for details.
