Ring in the New Year with Family-Friendly Fun (and Science!) at MOSI

TAMPA, FL (December 16, 2025) – This New Year’s Eve, Tampa Bay’s families will welcome 2026 by joining hands-on science demos, singing their hearts out at karaoke, and journeying through space in a special planetarium show as they celebrate Quantum Countdown: Level Up to 2026, presented by PNC Bank, at MOSI, Tampa’s Museum of Science & Industry.

Quantum Countdown Is a Day of Interactive Demos, Planetarium Magic, Video Game Adventures, Karaoke, and More

Included with MOSI admission, families will step into a video game-inspired world of science and discovery. This year, there’s no need to stay up until midnight to be part of the fun: From kids to great-grandparents, everyone’s welcome at MOSI’s Quantum Countdown, a family-friendly, daylight hours, last-day-of-the-year celebration with two big midday “3… 2… 1…” countdown events and more fun for everyone:

🥳 Noon Year’s Eve Countdowns: Make daytime cheers to the New Year in “Noon Year’s Eve” countdowns at noon and 3 p.m.

🌙 Planetarium Shows: Journey through space at 12:45 or 4 p.m. inside the spectacular Saunders Planetarium, America’s second-largest planetarium.

🕹️ Video Game Craft Station: Create your own game-themed masterpiece.

🔬 Interactive Science Demos: Get intrigued doing hands-on experiments.

🎤 Karaoke Zone: Step up to the mic and show off your skills.

🕺 Live DJ: Music and dancing for all ages in Science Park.

🔍 Scavenger Hunt: Find hidden video game icons from every era.

🤫 Silent Auction: Have fun bidding on exclusive items while supporting MOSI’s mission.

🍭 Delicious Eats, Games, and Vendors: Enjoy treats including cotton candy and themed beverages from Beakers Bar.

“Science, innovation, discovery, and a love of learning about the endless possibilities of the future are at the heart of what we do at MOSI,” said museum CEO John Graydon Smith. “What better way to welcome in the New Year than by combining science and fun?”

Sponsored by PNC Bank, Quantum Countdown: Level Up to 2026 runs from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at MOSI, 4801 E. Fowler Avenue in North Tampa across from the University of South Florida.

Tickets are on sale now at mosi.org, with advance purchase strongly recommended as space is limited. Admission is $15 for kids ages 3-17 and $20 for guests 18 and older.

Add the special Countdown Planetarium Show for an additional $10 at the box office.

The event is free for MOSI members or included in the cost of a regular all-day general admission to the museum.
