Overview
SUE: The T. rex Experience introduces you to the most complete, best-preserved Tyrannosaurus rex ever discovered. Explore SUE’s world through larger-than-life displays, hands-on activities, and immersive encounters.
First, stand beside an exact cast of SUE’s skeleton. It stretches 40 feet from snout to tail and stands 13 feet tall at the hip! As you explore, examine the bones that help scientists uncover how T. rex lived, moved, and breathed.
Then, step beyond the skeleton and into the Cretaceous. Hear and feel the deep rumble of a T. rex growl. Next, touch bronze casts of fossil bones and discover the scents of prehistoric plants. Feeling brave? Take a sniff of what scientists think SUE’s breath might have smelled like!
Beyond these sensory encounters, discover the story behind the skeleton. Explorer Sue Hendrickson uncovered SUE in South Dakota in 1990, giving the dinosaur a name and scientists new clues to the past. Today, researchers continue to study SUE’s bones and make new discoveries.
Have a budding paleontologist in the family? Fascinated by dinosaurs yourself? Follow that curiosity to MOSI! This adventure brings science within reach for curious minds of all ages. Discover the extraordinary world of SUE for a limited time!
SUE: The T. rex Experience was organized by the Field Museum and is part of the Griffin Dinosaur Experience, made possible by the generous support of the Kenneth C. Griffin Charitable Fund.
