Discover the breakthroughs that made flight possible from the earliest dreams of the Wright brothers to today’s space exploration. Design your own supersonic fighter jet and race it in a virtual high-speed competition. Examine 3-D virtual models to see how innovations in flight work and understand the science behind them.

Feel what it is like to fly like a bird in a group flying experience, using motion-sensing image capture. Experiment with flight simulators, touch tables, and other hands-on technology to discover the forces that make flight possible.

Designed for all ages, Above and Beyond sparks curiosity, inspires imagination, and encourages the next generation of innovators.

  Don’t miss Dream to Fly in the Saunders Planetarium daily, a visually stunning show that explores the history of flight from Leonardo da Vinci onward.

What to Expect:

✈️ “Beyond the Limits” – A wraparound theater experience. Watch a three-minute film with stunning high-definition imagery, soaring music, and surround sound. It celebrates the quest to push the limits of flight.

🛩️ “Full Throttle” – Design your own virtual fighter jet. Use aerodynamic principles to guide your design. Then race other players in a high-speed flying competition.

🪽 “Spread Your Wings” – A group flying experience using motion-sensing technology. Become a virtual bird. Lean to steer. Flap and angle your wings. Explore lift, weight, thrust, and drag.
