Homeschool SEED Detail
MOSI offers age-appropriate, hands-on science classes to help supplement science and technology skills each month!
Keep your child growing with monthly homeschool science experiences. MOSI offers SEED (science experience and enrichment days). Let us complement your homeschool curriculum, and encourage hands-on exploration of STEAM topics (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics).
SEED classes are divided by age into two groups, a class for students ages 5-7 years, and a class for students ages 8-10 years.
Additional Details
- Homeschool classes are for students only. We ask that parents make other arrangements during class time
- Program is located in the Center for Learning next to the main museum building
- Classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1pm–3pm
- Pre-registration and payment are required at least one week in advance

Cancellation Policy
Refunds for homeschool programs are only available before the registration deadline, so that your spot can be given to others on the waitlist. To request a refund, please email your request and reservation details to reservations@mosi.org
All registrations subject to availability. MOSI reserves the right to cancel classes that have not met the minimum enrollment. Students will be placed in an alternative class when possible. If MOSI cancels a class, payment will be fully refunded.

Homeschool SEED: Matter Matters! (Ages 5-7)

Protons, neutrons, and electrons, oh my! Learn all about matter and its marvelous properties! Learn about the parts of an atom, how atoms combine to form molecules and compounds, and some cool facts about the periodic table!

Homeschool SEED: Absolutely Fabulous (Ages 8-10)

Get creative by using the equipment in the Fab Lab to make awesome t-shirts. Use the laser cutter to create awesome projects and more. Use technology to craft some of your favorite items. It will be a fun lab experience.

Homeschool SEED: Electromagnetism (Ages 5-7)

Step into electromagnetism with this fun and hands-on class! We will learn all about the electromagnetic spectrum, make an electromagnet, and play around with prisms and spectrum viewers!

Homeschool SEED: A Real Whodunit (Ages 8-10)

The money is gone. There are fingerprints everywhere. A note with the word “HELP!” has been left behind. You are now a crime scene investigator (CSI). Can you and your team figure out what happened? Can your team find out who has been kidnapped? Use science and the clues left behind

This class is all about one of the greatest scientists who ever lived. We will learn about Newton’s Laws of Motion and the Universal Law of Gravitation with fun and hands-on experiments and activities!

Homeschool SEED: Engineering Lab (Ages 8-10)

Compete in challenges to test your engineering skills. Can your structure be used as a bridge? Can your structure contain the most mass? Can your catapult launch items the farthest distance? These activities and more will be built by you.
