Girl Scout Workshop FAQS

Do I need to be a scout to sign up?

No! You do not need to be registered as a girl scout to join. Girl Scout workshops are open to any girl between grades K-8.

Can I attend without the rest of my troop?

Yes! Our public scout workshops are designed for girls to sign up individually. Private workshops just for your troop are also available by reservation.

Do I need to attend with my child?

Yes, if your child is under the age of 13 an adult chaperone is required to sign up and attend with them. Only one chaperone is needed per every ten children if you are a leader or parent responsible for multiple children.

Children 13 and older do not need a chaperone for workshops, but must pick up their child immediately following the workshop.

Adult chaperones are always required for overnight programs regardless of age.

What do I need to bring?

Not much! MOSI provides everything required for the program. Uniforms are optional. Close toed shoes are always recommended in our workshops, and a light jacket for those that get cold in strong AC. Guests are welcome to bring their own snacks that they may eat provided it is safe to do so during the activities.

I missed the registration deadline, what can I do?

It might not be too late! If you've missed the registration deadline or if the program has been sold out, email us at reservations@mosi.org to see if there are still any available spots or to be added to our waitlist. If another scout drops out we will let you know!

What discounts does MOSI offer?

For scout programs, the best way to save is to become a MOSI member! MOSI members receive a discount on scout registration for all public programs.

When are scout programs held?

MOSI offers public scout workshops and camp-ins during the school year, typically from late August to the end of May. Public scout programs are offered on the weekends, and public camp-ins are held on either Friday or Saturday evenings.

Private scout workshops or camp-ins can be held any time of year, check with us at reservations@mosi.org to inquire about weekend availability or simply submit a program request/quote form online.
