Homeschool Science Experience Enrichment Days (SEED)
What does it take to make a seed grow? The seed needs water, nutrients and light to grow. Let MOSI help your child grow with our new Homeschool SEED days!
SEED Days are monthly enrichment classes for your homeschooler that complement your homeschool curriculum through hands-on explorations of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics).
• Classes are from 10 am – 12 pm; once per month
• Classes are for students only. We ask that parents make other arrangements during class time.
• Pre-registration and payment are required at least one week in advance
• Program fee: $24 per program or $176 for all 8 sessions*
• MOSI Member: $18 per program or $128 for all 8 sessions*
*Discount only available if you register for the entire series at once.
September 12th: Roll With It! (Engineering)
Experience the action of art in motion as you master the mechanics of movement by building a Rube Goldberg-style contraption. Work together to build a complex machine using pulleys, gears, marbles, motors and more!

October 10th: Lights, Camera, Action! (Video Production)
Learn what it takes to go from storyboard to iPad production! Use Green Screen effects to give your videos unique backgrounds or to make objects fly! We’ll upload our videos to a private YouTube channel so you can share your creations with family and friends.

November 14th: Ready for Launch! (Rocketry)
What better way to spark your interest in space and astronomy than by building and launching your own model rocket? Artemis II will be the second launch of the SLS rocket that will send astronauts to the Moon, and the next launch is scheduled for November 2024!

December 12th: Watt's the Matter (Circuits)
Get first-hand experience with circuits as you help solder some connections and let your creativity shine as we make light-up holiday cards! You’ll learn about conductors, insulators, LEDs, and much more – you’ll be shocked to see how a Van der Graaff works!

January 9th: High-Tech Flyers (Flying Machines)
Did you know that we went from the first powered flight in 1903 to landing a man on the Moon in 1969 in only 66 years?? Learn about the history of aviation as we take a look at gliders, airplanes, helicopters, and drones and how they impact our daily lives. We’ll even try our hand at flying through a test course!

February 13th: Game Design (Programming)
Celebrate programming month as you create your own platformer video game! Learn the logic behind simple game mechanics and unleash your creative side as you customize your levels and show off your games via a shareable code! Everyone can join in on the fun, no prior programming knowledge required.

March 5th: Robo Tech (Robotics)
Whether it’s helping surgeons with complex procedures, exploring the harsh conditions of another planet, or anything in-between, robots help humans accomplish more. We will use LEGO® robotics components to assemble and program a robot with a specific goal in mind.

April 9th: Human vs. Machine (Health)
Why are machines better-suited to certain jobs than humans? Because of consistent results! Use Vernier Probes to directly measure muscle fatigue and see how that might impact performance. Put your skills to the test to see who can do it better, robots or humans?
