Homeschool Science Experience Enrichment Days (SEED)
What does it take to make a seed grow? The seed needs water, nutrients and light to grow. Let MOSI help your child grow with our new Homeschool SEED days!
SEED Days are monthly enrichment classes for your homeschooler that complement your homeschool curriculum through hands-on explorations of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics).


• Classes are from 1 – 3 pm; once per month
• Classes are for students only. We ask that parents make other arrangements during class time.
• Pre-registration and payment are required at least one week in advance
• Program fee: $24 per program or $176 for all 8 sessions*
• MOSI Member: $18 per program or $128 for all 8 sessions*

September 12th OR 14th: Superhero Physics (Physics)
Have you ever wondered what a gamma ray is and how it could change Bruce Banner into the Hulk? How could the Sue Storm turn invisible? How hard would Superman need to push off the ground to be able to leap tall buildings in a single bound? Learn all about the physics of Superheroes in this marvel-ous homeschool class. Feel free to wear your favorite Superhero apparel. Excelsior!

October 10th OR 12th: Potions and Formulas (Chemistry)
Ring in the spookiest of months with a Potions and Formulas homeschool class. Create fog in a cauldron, make a balloon blow up all by itself, and make your own liquid luck potion. Feel free to come to class in your favorite spooky costume!

November 14th OR 16th: Stormy Weather! (Weather)
Turn on some Etta James on the record player, cozy up with a cup of hot cocoa, and get ready to learn all about inclement weather! Learn where the strongest part of a hurricane is located, how lightning forms, how convection currents influence both wind and water, and make a storm in a jar.

December 12th OR 14th: Outta This World! (Space)
Do you think Mars is marvelous? Are you in awe of Saturn’s rings? Would you love to take a stroll in Neptune’s diamond rain? If you answered yes to any of these questions, this homeschool class just may be for you. Learn all about the phenomenal planets in our solar system, how they orbit the sun, and build a craft that can land safely on your favorite extraterrestrial rock.

January 9th OR 11th: Super Sleuths (Forensics)
Put on your Sherlock Holmes-style hat, pick up your magnifying glass, and join us for a homeschool class full of perplexing puzzles, enigmas, and intrigue. Crack coded messages, search for clues, and bring the mischievous law-breaker to justice!

February 13th OR 15th: Rockin' Rocks (Geology)
There really is no place like home- Earth has some breathtaking geological formations. Learn all about the rock cycle, plate tectonics, mountain-building, volcanoes, earthquakes and more in this “moving” homeschool class.

March 5th OR March 7th: The Science of Sound (Physics - Sound)
Do you hear what I hear? Learn all about how sound travels, figure out how our ears funnel and interpret sound waves, make your own instrument, and experience the Doppler Effect in this amped-up class.

April 9th OR 11th: Plants and Pollinators (Life Science)
Spring has sprung and that means it is time to learn all about plants and pollinators. Build a bee hotel to keep native solitary bees safe and dry, create your own self-watering planter, perform a plant dissection, and learn all about the wonders of nature in the this bee-u-ti-ful homeschool class.
