fun, hands-on, educational activities for preschoolers. Junior
scientists explore the world around them with the help of a
special adult that accompanies them.

clouds and into the stars. Build a
mini-planetarium to take home. |

Create a storm while blowing clouds,
hearing thunder, and zapping electricity. Imitate
the rain cycle and create a beautiful rainbow of colors. |
Flower Power

See, smell and touch beautiful
flowers. Which flowers smell the best? Make a flower
crown to wear to our flower petal taste
test. |

Under the Deep Blue Sea

What lives under the water? Hold a
jellyfish in your hand and look for sea monkeys. Use a
map to follow directions to underwater
treasures. |
Picnic Pals
January 8, 15, or 2
Fly alongside a butterfly to see how
they eat and sleep. Mix colors to create your own
colorful wigs. Eat leaves and drink nectar as you
pretend to be a butterfly. |

Experiment with toys. Which balls
bounce the highest? Which dump truck can haul the most
dirt? Judge which toys are the most fun to play. Which
toys spark your imagination? |
Once Upon a Time

Set your clock, what time is it? As
time goes by does the sun go to bed? Play with shadows
and make shadow pictures using the sun. Learn
about animals that play in the sun and animals that come
out at night. |

Make a car and zoom it down a ramp
for everyone to see. How fast can it go? How far can it
go? Help make a city where your cars can play. Explore
how things roll. |
Play to Win

Playtime! Experiment with toys from
around the world. Throw a boomerang and kick a soccer
ball. Learn how different shapes and sizes are good for
different games. |

Junior Science
Adventure Days is an engaging introduction to a child’s first
science class. Children will learn age appropriate science
concepts in the fun hands-on environment of a MOSI classroom.
Make predictions, test for your results and share your finding
with the whole class. Pour, mix, measure, make friends
and smile.

Science Adventure Days compliments any home school curriculum as we learn to use science to discover the wonders of our world. Use tools that scientist’s use to get an insider peek at new and upcoming scientific discoveries. Pull up your sleeves and dig into a fascinating world were slime oozes out of bowls, rockets zoom through the sky and volcanoes erupt hot lava. It is designed so that students can thrive individually but also participate in group activities.

See inside an eye and travel through the digestive system to eruptive ends. Whip up batches of mucus, blood, and “other” important bodily fluids that keep you healthy and sound |
The Final Frontier

Prepare for lift-off as you soar into outer space. Work with robots and build a probe, in order to learn about the planets in our solar system and other galaxies. Gaze into the night sky in MOSI’s own planetarium. |

Find out more about the third rock from the sun by studying the layers of the earth. Use tectonic plates to form a huge erupting volcano. Recreate natural disasters to understand the importance of preparation before a disaster strikes. |
Planet Watch November 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, or 21
Put on your sturdy shoes and trek through MOSI’s Backwoods to help save the planet. Collect and categorize microorganisms to discover how they keep our planet clean. Test for pollutants that harm our precious natural resources. Identify native flora and fauna and discover how they survive in Florida’s tropical environment. |

Use sonar and ocean coordinates to locate sunken ships. Design and press coins to add to your treasure chest. Test the strength of aluminum, wood, and various materials to build a submarine that travels through depths of the cold blue sea. |
Buggin’ Out! January 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, or 23
If you like six legged, creepy crawly, hairy insects then this is the class for you. Zip flies across the sky into a super web to capture your next meal. Eat like a butterfly and dance like a bee. Defend yourself like nature’s most unique insects and arachnids. Did you know that a roach can hold its breath for 28 minutes? |

See the world through the eyes of history’s greatest minds. Relive some of the most important moments in science. Gather evidence to prove the existence of tiny organisms and see how electricity and magnetism are related. Watch out for falling apples. |

Do you feel the “Need for Speed”? Get ready to go faster and higher as we learn about the science of motion. Understand basic concepts like acceleration, momentum, and velocity. Design and build your dream car and compete in the MOSI 500. Test your skills in our reaction time area. There are no limits to how fast you can go. |

On your mark, get set, go! Discover the science behind how javelins soar and discuses rotate. Explore the science of running and jumping. Try your hand at pole vaulting. Put your skills to the test in the MOSI Olympic Games. |
